Golfer Sam Torrance Plays Too Much Backgammon

The 53 year old golfer who captained the winning European Ryder Cup team in 2002 has a thing or two to say about his backgammon habit. During an interview with Sam Torrance, who will also be taking part in the Chivas Snow Golf Championship in St Moritz this year, it came out that Sam says "Beaver" way too much, thanks to a habit of playing backgammon that has stretched out for nearly three decades. Beaver, according to Sam, is what you say when you are doubled up on and then redouble on your opponent.
