Online Backgammon Shut Down in Israel
05th of February 2007
If you can do it online and win money on it, it is likely illegal - at least that is the message being sent by an Israeli judge recently during a court case with Victor Chandler. The Gibraltar-based online bookmaker's CEO Michael Carlton and his outfit were banned from providing any services to Israeli customers, setting a precedent that online poker and backgammon - any online gambling - is unwelcome. Any company is "breaking the law if does not block access to Israelis," according to the judge.
