The word "Party" is a very powerful thing for anyone who grew up in the post "Animal House" era. It was the word we chanted when carrying our kegs into the nearest frat house, and the last thing we uttered before sleep blissfully overcame us. We associate the word Party with all that is right, good, and really spectacularly fun in the universe. So this is a good word to attach to the game of backgammon.

PartyGammon.com is the newest offering from the PartyGaming line. Because of the past success questions about the software and security go right out the window. Even though Backgammon is something that is just starting to grow in popularity, and new sites are sprouting up every day, PartyGammon is just a new part to something that is pre-existing and tested. The track record of the PartyGaming line gives visitors to PartyGammon a sense of security they may not have at competing sites. PartyGammon has not just slapped traditional Backgammon up on the site and said, "Take it or leave it". They have taken the opposite line and given the users a choice of the type of Backgammon they wish to play. Alongside the game we all know and love are two other variations: hypergammon and nackgammon. These intriguing takes on the traditional game are fun to play, but need time to build an audience. One of the few complaints about this site is that so few people are playing the alternative versions of the classic game.

All in all this is a great site that is up to the PartyGaming standards. Unfortunately, like all PartyGaming products they are unfriendly to Mac and Linux owners. There is software that can take care of that problem though, and it is a small price to pay for a quality home for Backgammon in cyberspace.
