Starting Out in Backgammon, World Class Backgammon Move by Move
Once again it's time for our faithful segment on enlightening your backgammon world through the power of literature. We have a couple of books that we'd like you to check out (either in your local library or at your local bookstore). Slowly but surely we will turn you into a backgammon book worm, to wit. Now, grab yourself a nice cold glass of iced tea or a mug of hot chocolate (depending on where on our ever-warming planet you may live) as we present to you these 2 entries.
Starting Out in Backgammon
Author: Paul Lamford
Each chapter of Lamford's Starting out in Backgammon is heavily sprinkled with handy Tips, Warnings, and Notes that summarize important points of play, and he dishes them out in memorable bites. This book would be good for intermediate players as well as the beginner, so don't let the title fool you.
World Class Backgammon Move by Move
Author: Roy Friedman
Here's a book that would satisfy even the most advanced backgammon player. If top-notch analysis is what you are looking for, this is one of those books worth hunting for (and it just may be hard to find this one). The backgammon analysis in this one is outstanding, as Friedman offers a blow-by-blow scientific approach, and it's not hard to tell the author put in a ton of work to put these diagrammed positions on so many pages.
