This is one of the strongest programs available for Mac, with nice graphics and a tutor to point out errors. Gnu Backgammon analyzes games and matches played online or against the computer. This software is recommended for serious players looking to improve their skills at strategy, as opposed to casual players looking to waste time at the computer playing something besides solitaire and mahjong.

One of the strongest backgammon players available for Mac. Languages include English, German, Dutch and Danish. Roll out positions to get a better approximation of real winning probabilities. A built-in tutor warns you of possible errors in play. Plays Nackgammon. Collects and analyzes matches played online.
